"Rosie", my miniature donkey, became trapped under her turnout fence, severely injuring her back leg. Waiting for the vet, I managed to get her up, instantly her leg trembled from the trauma and pain. For fear that her leg was fractured, I was advised to do the humane thing right there. " Dear Lord" I thought and remembered how she was such a survivor, I said, " no, I want to give her every chance possible," my vet went along with my decision. We X-rayed her in the turnout, made a sling, and were able to get her to the stall. Another vet came and examined her to see if her pelvis was also fractured. A catheter was stitched into her neck and for 3 days, she was given 1000's of cc of fluids, more x-rays, an ultra sound and pain medication. Because of her tiny body, it was impossible to see a hair line fracture, but that still held for the diagnosis because of her condition. Each day, I asked, " Rosie, what do you want me to do?" Each day she would show me that she was a fighter. She wouldn't give up, neither would I. It was a long hard road for her, and little by little she was able to get up and move around the stall. Than a most wondrous day happened. Sally and Cindy walked into the barn to visit and Reiki her friend's horse. I asked if it would look at Rosie. Without hesitations off she went to the stall, all before I say anything about Rosie's injury and past history. Rosie communicated to Cindy (before the adoption) how she had been through much worse. (That was true!) From that first visit everything has taken a most miraculous change. Rosie began walking almost normal (limping but using the leg), her conformation is changing, I can see muscles beginning to come back. She can again drop down and roll as much as her little heart desires. She can free graze anywhere on the property. She hates bath time and acts like a stallion, dancing in place and tries to drag me as far from the hose. I can clean all 4 feet without help. I keep the sling as a reminder that miracles still happen. The most wondrous sight is that spark of life and spirit that was designed for all His creation, is now back, along with her very loud honking to let you know of her presence....that's my Rosie We love you forever from our heat of hearts, |

"I've always said, 'the older you get, the more you learn to understand yourself.' When I was having some real difficulty with my knees, my friend, Sally Hamer, was starting out on a new career; she was becoming a massage therapist. Little did I know that she would save me from pain and, more than once, help me heal emotionally. She started me out with some therapeutic massage and fascia release on my knees. This got me walking with NO pain. She has the gift to know where the body needs some TLC 'a la Sally'. Next, when I dislocated my elbow, the doctor felt that I would never have full range of motion. Much to my delight Sally fixed me up with some more therapeutic massage. I now can straighten my arm to the full range of motion. Then Sally straightened my toe which curled into a ball when I spent too much time on my feet." —Pamela J. Schluter M.Ed |

Auntie Sally, Just wanted to let you know how
I made out today at the child development center. They told my mom that
I was doing great!!! I have made a lot of progress in one month's time
and they see no reason for their services. They asked my mom what she
had done for me because it really worked and to keep it up. She told them
that it was her Auntie Sally that had straightened me out. Neck wise at
least. I now hold my head up high ( and straight) very proudly. Just want
to thank you and hope to have you work on me again. I promise I'll try
and stay still although you know the genes I have, that may be hard. Thank
you again!!! —Love Lucas, |

I met Sally Hamer
when she came to DoveStar as a student in 1998. Little did I know at that
time that she would become one of the most talented and intuitive body
and energy workers I would have the good fortune to call a friend. Since
her graduation, Sally has continued to expand her knowledge and understanding
through continuing education courses in a variety of modalities. —Penny McCoy, Licensed Massage
Therapist, Reiki Master Therapist |
